What it is

Your Pursuit answers two questions. What do you want in your work life. What do you want in your personal life. The questions sound simple. The answers usually are not.

The first version of your pursuit will be wrong. That is the point. You write it anyway, return to it, and let it sharpen.

How to do it

  • Write what you want, in plain language.
  • Ask why. Write the answer.
  • Ask why again. Write the answer.
  • Continue until the answer arrives at something true.
  • Identify what you need to be honest about, and what you need to be open to, in order to move toward it.
  • Commit to one next step.

Why sharing it changes things

A pursuit that stays in your head never gets shared with anyone. The magic is in sharing it with people, because that is how you actually make it happen. Write it down, then tell the people around you what you are working toward.

  • The Agreement. A simple script to follow at the outset of any conversation.
  • The Assessment. The measurable approach to open and honest.
  • Fake You. The façade we project rather than being 100% honest.
  • The Wall. The divide we create between ourselves and others rather than being 100% open.
  • The Still. A one-page snapshot to help you uncover and become aware of today’s version of you.
